    A friend of mine recommended me to this salon after having to cut ties with someone I’ve been going to for years. I was super nervous at first but once I walked in, I felt so welcomed! It’s a good vibe at this salon◡̈ Courtney did absolutely amazing with my haircut!     Wow! What can I say?! This place is FANFREAKINTASTIC! The price is right. The location is perfect. The hospitality and professionalism I experienced was superb! The owner is sweet and very easy to talk to. You walk in there and you feel like you’re sitting with friends. Alyssa was my hair artist and she did a great job on my hair. I was only looking for a trim and a side bang and she DELIVERED. She didn’t cut it too short and did exactly what I hoped for. My expectations have been highly exceeded. I can’t wait to go back when I’m ready for more. Thank you so much for making my experience comfortable and welcoming. I loved the atmosphere and the fact that I didn’t feel like I was just another person/money sign. Just from talking with Alyssa I realize they’re a full salon with haircuts/colors for men, women, AND kids, with highly trained stylists for nails, waxing, and more.     I’ve been coming to Downtown Hair Lounge for my hair needs since August 2023. Kayleigh has been working wonders on my curly hair. With her consulting , she’s helped me with coloring it to red to now highlights of blonde. Also, Kayleigh’s given advice on out of salon hair care and products. Highly recommend this salon to anyone with any type of hair needs, as each stylist has different specialties!

    Amber and Court are both super sweet. The shop has a very welcoming atmosphere and you’ll probably laugh a lot too. I’ve had Court cut and color my hair a few times and it’s always been a lot of fun on top of having a great outcome on my hair!

    I came in early and as I was waiting for my haircut, I watched Amber miraculously cut a young boys hair who definitely did not want to be there. He was kicking and crying and even playing on his tablet and Amber still managed to give this young boy a perfect haircut in 5-6 minutes. The rest of the salons staff treated me so well, I honestly felt like I was at home even though it was my first time there. I can’t recommend Amber and downtown hair lounge any more!

    Went to Kay for my littles first hair cut. She did such an amazing job interacting and making us comfortable. The cut turned out just how we wanted it. The environment is wonderful. 10/10 would recommend. We will definitely be back to see Kay in the future.

    Amber was so great with our twin babies (22 months, almost 2 years old)! Our daughter cried a little at first but then she was just chilling, same with our son, it was during nap time so they were a little cranky but I was very surprised at how relaxed and calm they were in the chair all on their own. Amber really is the baby whisperer and she cut their hair exactly how I asked and better then I even envisioned! They were so in awe of her dog Winnie as well, so adorable, definitely a family friendly place! Everyone was super down to earth and welcoming. We will for sure be returning for their third haircut! Thank you so much Amber and everyone else for the immaculate vibes!I added photos and you can see the tarp isn’t over our son Alex, they pushed it away when she tried, so she just left it off, which is fine, it’s just a little hair, nothing a bath didn’t fix :)Just wanted to clear that up for anyone confused if they saw that and wondered why there was hair all over him!

    I got so many recommendations to come here to see Amber for my son’s first hair cut and I’m so glad I did! She’s wonderful with him and is super fast. I’ve been in and out in 15 minutes for all of his cuts. $20 for a kid cut and awesome service.

    Amber os great when it comes to special needs kids . We have tried to get my grandson hair cut by 3 different salons. No one could cut hit hair . He is autistic and has sensory issues . Amber gave him a amazing hair cut. Now he looks like a big boy instead of a baby .. thank you so much Amber. We will definitely be going back.

    Such a wonderful experience!! I mean I cannot say enough about how great it was, the minute I walked in before we even met I was greeted by my name and continued to be called by my name. It was so refreshing, got my bangs fixed from a previous bad cut in just a few minutes and she even fit in my partner for a beard trim which was super quick too. Great prices, super friendly, great atmosphere. And their dog Winnie was the sweetest!! Cannot wait to come here again, will definitely be my regular salon.

    We have been going to Amber since my childs first hair cut in 2018 (before she opened her own business). We followed her when she opened Downtown Hair Lounge. Amber is simply, the best. She has been named the kid whisperer and its not without reason. I have a child with sensory issues and Amber has been so amazing since the beginning, that he sits so amazing for her now. Amber will do anything for the childs hair she is cutting. Chase them around, make silly faces, she sat on the floor with my son for one of his first cuts with her. Anytime we go into this shop, its met with amazing personalities of anyone else working there and such a comfortable environment. I would recommend Downtown Hair Lounge 10x before another shop like this. We love it here and will keep coming back as long as they are open.

    Amber is amazing with kids. Our 2 year old is super shy and doesnt like anyone he doesnt know to get to close to him. Our first visit, he wouldnt sit but was entertained by the toys and Amber went out of her way to chase him around while playing to get a great haircut. Second visit, he sat with Mom in the chair and let her cut his hair. So we are making progress. Amber is so patient and accommodating. If you are nervous for your littles first haircut, then Amber is your girl, she will make it a great experience every time 😊

    Highly recommend! Ive had a few bad salon experiences so I tend to cut my own hair. I heard so many good things about the hair lounge and Im so glad I checked it out.     Amber has been doing my sons hair for years! She was great with him when he was small and didnt want to sit in her chair. She was always flexible (and still is) when he wants it all done HIS way. I love that she always makes sure were happy with how his hair turns out before we leave. Her new shop looks amazing!!     I love this shop! Its great that both my girlfriend and I can go to the same place. Its refreshing to have a shop that is family friendly. Amber is so great with kids.     Hanri is fantastic! Very responsive, easy to schedule an appointment, fantastic cut and the best color Ive ever had!     Ambers salon is so cute and welcoming! Her staff are friendly and professional.     I brought my autistic son here, and for the first time in his almost 6 years, he didn’t cry or freak out during the haircut. Amber was super patient and worked around what he wanted in order to cut his hair, which ended up with her cutting his hair while he stood at the front door watching the rain.Amber also does an amazing job with my nephew who is also autistic. He LOVES getting his haircut now.She cuts majority of the guys in my friend group’s hair, as well as a my boyfriend’s.We all think DTHL is great 😌

    We went to see Amber Kelly today for our 2 year Olds first salon haircut and she was amazing! Our son felt so comfortable with her and the whole experience was better than we expected! Downtown hair lounge is a super cute salon with a sweet staff that welcomes children with open arms, even if the child might not sit right or might not be too happy to have their hair cut! The talented (and award winning) ladies at the Downtown Hair lounge made me feel like I was hanging out with a group of friends while being pampered. They provide a very welcoming and chill environment that made for a great “beauty-shop” experience as we all chatted, customers and employees alike. I highly recommend making an appointment with them as soon as possible =)I had the pleasure of having my hair cut, colored, and styled by the very talented Courtney; aka Runs with Shears. All the hair colors that Courtney uses are cruelty free yet, they are extremely vibrant and beautiful. Courtney even offers vegan products as well! Name a color and she can do it! Not only did Courtney make my hair look amazing, she took the extra time to give me some pointers on how to better care for my hair and keep it strong and healthy. What more can I say: she’s great!The quality of their work, the incredible atmosphere of the shop, and the fantastic customer/client interactions really sets them above the rest.
