    5 star: Definitely a service worth coming back to. I was recommended this place a while back by a friend whose stylist was also Natalie. She did an amazing job on my hair, she made sure i was comfortable and before we did anything, she asked me questions and confirmation. She did great doing my hair cut, making sure the length was perfect and her patience with dyeing my hair was great too as we went to almost 7 hours. The result was worth the wait though and I definitely recommend.

    This was my first time at this salon and I will definitely be back!I got my hair cut at a different place today and they BUTCHERED it- Danny at Rio got me in within an hour and he turned my mess into a beautiful cut! He was so understanding and talked me through every step & made my hair pretty again . Hes definitely my new go-to!

    I have been coming to this salon for a little less than a year now and I cant believe I havent given them the 5 star review theyve earned time and time again. The first pic is my hair on a day to day basis (freshly washed and air dried). Everytime Ive walked into RIO Ive always left feeling like a princess. Ive worked with Autumn, Natalie, and Zoe (Apprentice) and have NEVER been disappointed with their service, always getting exactly was I wanted and asked for. I typically get a blowout style with every trim I get and it always looks amazing. In the third lic is what my dry hair looked like after receiving the gloss mask treatment. I love this place and I doubt Ill find anywhere else like it. With friendly diverse staff with a whole range of talents, to the comfy interior, and of course complimentary beverage table, I have been throughly impressed. This place is very clean, very professional and very affordable. My services have also never been more than $80 (with tip.) 10/10 would recommend. (P.S . despite the Redken products being more expensive than I typically spend, the product reccomended to me is now my new go -to in shampoo and conditioner. I noticed a WHOLE difference in my hair texture and recommend at least trying them once if you arent satisfied with your current home hair care needs.) Hope to see you there!

    Absolutely thrilled with my haircut and overall experience at the Rio salon, mostly due to the angel that is Rachel!! Was super nervous to get my hair done and she talked with me, joked with me, and made me feel like I was a friend rather than a client. She asked me throughout the process if I wanted anything changed to ensure I liked where the cut was going, and made me feel comfortable enough to ask for any changes I wanted. She was a delight, the salon was beautiful, and my hair turned out exactly how I wanted! Will absolutely be going again.

    ZOE WAS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!! I cannot recommend her enough! She took her time and made sure I was informed with what was going on and kept me comfortable! She gave me cute bangs and pink hair! Here’s a before and after picture.Ask for Zoe next time you stop in!!!

    Autumn is the best hairstylist I have ever seen. She is an expert in everything she does. She goes above and beyond to make sure you get the look you wanted. I left looking better than the inspo pictures. And to top it all, she is the sweetest person who really takes care of her clients!

    I highly recommend RIO!! Salon is clean. Everyone is friendly and inviting. Booking an appointment is easy. My hair is thin and fine. Terri does an amazing job of cutting it to look more full. She is also cautious and knowledgeable when it comes to my allergies.

    Autumn does amazing work when it comes to long or short styles. It’s very hard to find a stylist in Jacksonville who can do mullets, wolf cuts, and the punk style but autumn can 😍. Not to mention she’s amazing at cutting pixie style hair. I had some before and after pictures but google wont let me attach them!

    Everyone at Rio hair studio seems so nice and sweet. The atmosphere was so nice and lively! Daniel did my sisters hair, she wanted blue and she got just that and absolutely loves it. Had a minor situation when she couldnt handle the bleach but Danny was so sweet and fast to respond and make her comfortable and work with what he could after that. Turned out amazing anyways!

    Rio is a beautiful salon. All Rio staff are so gorgeous and sweet. Lexi always takes great care of me and my hair. Shes always down to create a look tailored to my aesthetic. She is professional, patient, and accommodating of all of my hair requests. She lightens my roots and refreshes my vivid colors every 10-12 weeks. The hair colors fade nicely between each appointment and my hair consistently feels super healthy. Also, all of the products she has used smell so good and are of good quality (Olaplex + Redken). Lastly, Ive had shampoos by Lexi and her assistants, and they were all so gentle, and thorough. I always leave Rio with my hair feeling so clean and silky. Highly recommend.

    This was my first time going to this salon and Daniel did an AMAZING job. I decided to attempt to bleach my own hair blonde and ended up with an absolute disaster. I was able to book a last minute consultation with Daniel and he agreed to fix me up 2 days after the consult. Daniel went out of his way to come in and work on my hair for 6-7 HOURS the day before leaving for a big 10 day trip out of the country. I can think of many hair stylists and many salons who would’ve told me I was out of luck. Daniel was patient, knowledgeable, and honestly created a work of art. It meant a lot to me that he was willing to sacrifice his time in order to ensure he could fix everything I did. If you are nervous about someone new touching your hair, or unsure about what you want done, give Daniel a try. I promise you won’t regret it! I found my forever stylist!

    Mackenzie is the best!!! I have been seeing her for a couple years now and she has always made me leave with a smile on my face. I leave Rio with the healthiest, softest hair EVER. She is always spot on with what I ask for, and it turns out gorgeous every. single. time. Not to mention this salon is beautiful and clean on the inside, and full of the nicest staff ever. I will always go to Rio!

    First, the staffs are welcoming and friendly vibes. The atmosphere and salon location is clean and accessible to my place. I like the end result. Reasonable pricing without gratuity needed. The only makes it like 3.5 for me are the products they use for hair coloring. It makes my hair super dry and not even a single scent for the product or shampoo they use. The scent is chemical ish. I’ve been to many salons before but my hair resulted to a shiny and softer hair. This needs to be considered since my stylist is very talented. Second, the picture i wanted was not even close to what have resulted. Good thing the end result was favorable. But if a sensitive client didn’t get what they wanted it will be a different thing. Lastly, my ears post hair coloring were inflamed. I suppose because of the chemicals touching my earlobes. My point is they should have ear protectors for this kind of things. Overall, it was a good experience. Still in search for better hair salon.

    Lexi is by far my favorite hair stylist in Jacksonville and I wouldn’t go to anyone else! She’s supported me in all my hair choices, from blue black to a balayage, to red and back to black, etc. The entire Rio team is so kind and the salon overall has a great vibe to it. Highly recommend!

    Lexi has been my hair stylist for years and there is truly no one like her. Not only is she incredible at her craft, she listens to her clients and makes them feel so loved and appreciated. She is always up for the challenge and tackles any request like a pro. I look forward to many more years in Lexi’s chair.Not only is Lexi amazing, but so is Rio Hair Studio! A few weeks ago I drove up from Orlando for what I thought was my appointment but unfortunately I was a week early. I couldn’t believe I had mixed up the dates and drove all that way for nothing. Instead of turning me away, the front desk was extremely kind and helpful, as the girl (I wish I could remember her name but it escapes me) went into problem solving mode and next thing I knew Lexi’s assistant, Zoe, was doing my hair. Zoe did a fantastic job and has truly learned from the best! She was so sweet and appreciative of me giving her the opportunity to do my hair.Overall, Rio is the best!     I meant to write this much earlier but I had a great experience with Daniel! If he stays there for a while he will be my go to hair guy!! He is amazingggg! for one, on top of being super friendly, and personable, he did an amazing job on my hair. For reference I have 3a texture long dark brown curly hair. I wanted to have blonde cool tone highlights. He was SOOOO thorough and very patient. He checked my hair to see how the curls would react to make sure my hair would look healthy still after the bleaching, he went through many sections of my hair. I wanted to keep length long as possible, and he worked with me so well on that. I appreciate to no end hair stylists that can work with textured and wont charge crazy amounts for it.     I have been getting my hair cut at great clips/super cuts for years and I figured it was time to be a grown up and get my hair cut at an actual salon. Jenna was my stylist and I really cant have enough nice things to say about her. She was fantastic. She helped me de-bulk my hair so that it has more movement and volume added some face framing layers. She really customized my cut to what I was looking for in the result. The conversation was great too.The reception is friendly and responsive, the salon smells nice and appeared clean. Overall it was a great experience.

    I had my haircut and balayage by Jenny Taylor, and she did a phenomenal job. My hair was cut from mid chest to above the shoulder, and she was very cognizant of my hair texture and thickness to get the layers just right. It was the first time I had my hair dyed, and she asked lots of questions to make sure she understood what I wanted, and she explained the process along the way so I knew what to expect. The other stylists periodically walking by were impressed that she pulled off a big change for me and made it look so good! The salon was clean and welcoming and everyone there was friendly to the clients and to each other. I would definitely make this salon my go-to if I lived in Jacksonville, and I would trust Jenny with my hair anytime!

    It really is true when they say if you find a good hair dresser keep going back to them. First of, everyone is really nice at RIO, they are welcoming, the place is always clean and just a nice environment overall. About 2-3 years ago I went to get my hair done with Isabelle and she did an OUTSTANDING JOB. Since then, I have trusted her with my hair completely. I dont get my hair done often its a once in a blue moon type deal but when I do get my hair done, I am picky and rigid with what I want. Isabelle took my jumbled nonsensical ideas and beautifully put it into a realistic image that works. I am so happy and thankful for people like her who truly listen to their clients versus shutting their ideas down without a solution. One year I needed a touch up on my highlights and Isabelle was booked out so I used a new hair dresses at RIO who was also kind and awesome but did not listen to me at all. She gave me highlights that I did not see any changes to my hair, I literally came home and none of my family members noticed I had my hair done they even said it looked the same. And at that time, I was very specific with that hair dresser and showed her pictures and she talked me out of every decision I wanted and completely did her own thing. That hair dresser was a good hair dresser however, she did not understand or connect with my personality and did not see my image. I went back to Isabelle ever since who continues to do my hair exactly how I want. I went there a week ago and I dont even know what I said for what I wanted and Isabelle was like I know exactly what you want. Yup, she was right because I LOVE MY HAIR!!!

    Amazing ! aalia accommodated me in just one day after telling her about my horrible experiences at another salon. I was able go get a perm just a day after I met her and I could not be happier. aalia and all of the stylists that I met are extremely kind and knowledgeable. they worked together to make sure my hair would be healthy during and after the chemical processing. i recommend this salon ten times over

    Was able to book a next day mens haircut appointment and had the pleasure of working with Misty as my stylist. Not only did she give me an amazing cut based off the images I shared for inspiration, but she also took the time to train me on how to blow dry and style it myself.     Jenna is amazing! My hair was very long and I’m learning how to style and take care of my curly hair, Jenna helped me decide what was best for my hair to feel lighter and be easier to maintain.     If anyone asks for a hair salon, I suggest Rio and Sara. Sara has never failed me, she always sees the exact idea I have in my mind about how I want my hair to look and she executes it perfectly. I don’t want anyone else ever doing my hair again, except for her. I’ve always left the salon feeling confident, beautiful, and excited to show off my hair. I will always come back for more! The salon itself is such a lovely environment, great customer service with great communication.

    Mackenzie is such a wonderful stylist! I go to her to get my hair toned (I used to be blonde and now tone my brown for upkeep) and get trims and she always does it just the way I like it! I was nervous to try a new hairstylist when I moved from PA earlier this year but Mackenzie’s skill and friendly personality has me completely at ease! Would totally recommend!

    I’ve been a client since 2007. I haven’t been anywhere else to get my hair done. Misty is amazing and has always been wonderful since day one. Everyone there are all wonderful And pleasant. Carolina has been doing my hair and she’s AMAZING! such a sweet person and knows her stuff! She cares for her clients needs and makes your experience with her personal, yet, professional. I can’t say in one word how wonderful she is and how each time she does my hair is excellent! Going through this unfortunate time, she was able to make me a home coloring kit with the color she would normally use. Carolina gave me the proper instructions and materials I needed to get these roots under control! The sweetest person ever and if I could give 100 stars I would! Rio is the place to go for all of your hair care needs!

    Lynda is a one of a kind color specialist and stylist! I could not be happier with her and how my hair looks. She has given me my confidence back & everyone loves it!     I’ve been going to Rio for over 10 years. I have curly hair so I’ve always been super apprehensive when getting my hair done because not everyone can style it and cut it correctly. At Rio, I’ve had everything from simple gray covering, to highlights, to up-dos, to a hair cut with layers to a full on short cut and every time my hair has looked amazing. Not only do they know how to properly cut and color my hair, but the products they use are not harsh on my hair. Highly recommend!

    Wonderful salon! Moved here and have had such a difficult time trying to find someone that knows what they are doing. I worked with Kris, she was professional, helpful, informative about the process and what the expectation for the cut and color that i was given. I try to stay away from stripping color and or adding color to my hair, but I had every confidence in Kris and my cut and color turned out amazing! The staff at the desk was very professional and all the stylist were so welcoming and friendly. I recommend Rio to all my friends and none of them have ever been disappointed.

    Just had my first appointment at Rio with Rylee. I have nothing but good things to say! 1. When we had to reschedule, she came in on her day off to get my hair done. 2. I’m a new mom to a 4 month old and she knew I had to be back with the baby ASAP so she got me out as fast as possible! 3. I have been trying to get these blonde turned orange highlights out for a year. I’ve been to multiple people and Rylee was the first one to get my hair where I wanted it. It’s matched the inspiration photos perfectly. 4. She is so kind! 5. Reasonably priced.I can’t wait to come back!

    Overall Ive had AMAZING experiences with Rio and my stylist, Krystal. The atmosphere is great, youre greeted and offered a beverage as soon as you come in, and Ive never had to wait more than 2 minutes to be seated in my chair. I couldnt recommend it more highly.Krystal has done an amazing job on my cuts and colors. Ive done all-over vivid dye, as well as multi-step lighten and vivid. At other businesses, Ive paid nearly twice as much before for results that were half as good. Krystal is friendly, accommodating, and overall just a cool person to sit and chat with. Once, I came in with a drawing of the hairstyle I wanted (since Id never seen anyone else with it), and she was totally down! She captured exactly what I wanted. Another time, I came in unsatisfied with the way the dye had taken to my hair (my hair just doesnt agree with this particular brand). After asking me a few questions to make sure it wasnt a problem with my maintenance routine, she agreed to fix it, free of charge, using a higher quality dye.TL;DR -- Krystal is awesome, Rio is great, and I highly recommend them!

    Whenever I go into Jacksonville, I always make a point to stop and get my hair cut and styled at Rio Hair Studio. I did not have an appointment this trip, and I was assigned to Dani to help me out. They explained the online appointment system so I will be good the next visit. Dani did a great job listening to how I usually keep my hair styled and she did an amazing job getting my hair just right. Dani and all the people who work at the salon are very personable. I sipped some wine while getting my hair styled... nothing better!The salon is beautiful! I feel like I am at a resort! :) I will be back in 2 months on my next Jacksonville trip!

    If you have curly hair, you know the struggle. You get it. That search for the perfect cut, the one who understands your hair, the hair whisperer.I think Ive found the one. Laura has got it. She is a curly girl herself and she really gets it.I think I blew a sigh of relief as soon as she said she would cut my hair dry. No panic.She did a fabulous job on my hair. Went back to her for a color treatment. Let me just say that the only reason I would ever do a home color again, is if I had an emergency grey situation. It is just no competition to professional color treatment.The color was expensive, the cut not so much. But if it makes my hair look great, its probably worth it.Curly girls out there, go see Laura.     I’ve been going to Rio to see Kris for years and have referred a couple friends and co-workers to her. I have very thick long blonde hair.     RIO is an amazing salon. It is extremely clean and everyone there is so friendly. My stylist spent hours on my hair to make it absolutely perfect. I think it is great that they make you come in for a consultation before you make an appointment. That way you know exactly what you are getting and around what price it is going to be! Thank God, i came across Laura Schoolhouse at Rio. She brought my hair back to life, healthy, thick and glamorous. What i love about Laura is she takes her time, explains her process and ALWAYS gets you the results you need but in a healthy, professional way.     I had the BEST experience at Rio Hair Studio. The place is clean and beautiful, and everyone was very friendly. After having several nightmare experiences with my hair, it was refreshing to have an awesome , professional stylist. Jess Wilkins did my cut and color, and I have never left a salon so happy. I have been a blonde my entire life, and was nervous about my transition to my darker, natural color. Jess is amazing and so kind! She did wonders to blend the color so I still have some blonde, but now my hair can grow healthy without bad roots growing in. I absolutely love it!! I had years of chemical damage and bleach issues, so my ends were about as bad as they get. Jess did a wet and dry haircut for me, and for the first time, running my hands through my hair without getting them caught or tangled in breakage was so nice !! My hair feels so healthy, my color is beautiful, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Rio Hair Studio to all my family and friends.

    Probably one of the best salons Ive been too. I went to try the new Redken Acidic Bonding system. Chantz took a few minutes to review my hair woes and explained the science behind the system before getting started.     Visited Rio for the first time Wednesday night, Oct 1st. I ran into a sweet lady that had a beautiful hair cut, and i asked her for a referral to her hairdresser. She told me to see Amy at Rio, and that i would not be disappointed. She was so right!!! From the moment i walked into Rio Salon, i was greeted by a lovely young woman...all smiles, polite, and she offered me a beverage. Shortly after, Amy came over and introduced herself to me and from that moment on, i knew i was in great hands. I got one of the best cuts i have had in many years.     SO HAPPY!! My hair was completely ruined/damaged by another Jacksonville salon (Frangipani Hair Studio) about 7 months ago and Ive been trying to bring it back to life ever since then. Now that its no longer breaking off, I decided to give Rio a try. I was randomly paired with Kris for a haircut and she was AMAZING!!! She insisted on doing a dry cut so no unnecessary tension would be put on my hair. She invested time in education me on hair tips and ways to prevent further damage.     I had my hair cut and colored by Sami and havent had a hair experience this good in as long as I can remember. I felt completely cared for and left with my dream hair. She even took the time to test the color on my hair and go back and touch up things to make it just right. The salon itself didnt leave a huge impression on me, but I believe that was simply because I was so enamored with the rest of the process. The atmosphere was cheerful and relaxing.
